A Little Bit About Me . . .

At the age of six I was taken to my first piano lesson and soon discovered a love for music.

I went on to learn the violin and saxophone and joined a local orchestra and soul band.

When I was eighteen I studied at Bath College and gained my National Diploma in Music.

During these two years I developed a passion for songwriting and I wrote my first EP. I performed frequently in and around Bath in venues such as Moles and Komedia alongside musicians Gabrielle Aplin, Lily Stokes and Laura Doggett to name a few.

After finishing college I decided to have a 'year out' and amongst doing many other things I travelled to Zambia. Whilst I was there I helped build a school, visited orphanages, painted classrooms and did a lot of singing.

I also played the keyboard with a local Zambian band which was fab. When I returned home I decided I did actually want to go to Uni, so the following September I started my Music Degree at Bath Spa University.

At Uni I specialised in Jazz Piano and Composition and wrote pieces for choirs, big bands, a string quartet and even wine glasses! - (filled with water not wine!) I also worked on various community music projects such as running songwriting workshops for children with special needs to singing with the elderly as part of Singing for the Brain. I was so inspired by these projects that I have recently set up my own Songwriting workshop.

Since graduating from Uni I have become a self-employed music teacher and absolutely love it! I teach piano from my home in Bishop Sutton, run a Children's Choir in Chew Magna and lead weekly music sessions at Coach House Montessori Nursery in Compton Martin.

In my spare time I love singing with 'Vox in Frox' - a fun Chamber Choir based in the Chew Valley lead by Caroline Lowe. We sing at weddings, private parties, fundraising events and we've recently sung at our first festival - ValleyFest!
